COMMITMENTS • SELF-BUILT SYSTEMS

You build We manage.

Your organization can currently take a system from idea to finished solution entirely on your own. We believe this is the right direction. However, a finished solution is not a living system. We step in after the launch, ensuring that what you have built continues to deliver results year after year.

More than just code

Building was never the hard part of ownership.

AI has shifted the boundaries of what an organization can build in-house. Those who know the process best can now take it all the way to a functional solution, without the need for requirement specifications or procurement rounds in between.

Then comes the Thursday in the seventh month. A dependency has a vulnerability. An integration has changed at the other end. The person who built the system has changed roles, and the documentation exists in a prompt history.

That work didn’t disappear just because building became faster. There was more of it, spread across more systems, and the responsibility fell to people who had never sought out a role in software operations.

This is how we take responsibility over time

What we assume responsibility for

  • Operations in our Swedish data centers, or in Azure if you prefer.
  • Monitoring, incident management, and remediation around the clock
  • Patching, security updates, and lifecycle management
  • Case management, SLA reporting, and steering committee
  • Further development when the system needs to keep pace with the business

Our experts work according to Emvico’s best practices for AI development, which is particularly important in this context. A system rapidly built using AI requires someone who understands both how it was created and how to keep it secure over time.

Flexibility – choose your level of management

Four levels, you choose the pace

The same tiered model as in our other management engagements. You enter at the level that suits you and move on whenever you wish.

Level 1

Resource augmentation

Resource embedding

Our engineers work within your team, on your system. Expertise is built before anything is moved.

For

Customers who want to upgrade but don't want to hand over responsibility.

Level 2

Management base

Foundation service

The system runs in our environment. We own the infrastructure, monitoring, incident management, and ticketing.

For

System in stable condition that needs ongoing care.

Level 3

Hybrid management

Hybrid management

The scope is determined system by system. What can be defined is fixed; the rest continues to evolve.

For

System under active development with business criticality.

Level 4

Comprehensive commitment

Full managed service

We own the service entirely. You retain control over product decisions.

For

Systems where internal IT does not need or want to support operations.

The point of the staircase model is the sequence. The transfer of competence takes place before the transfer of responsibility, not after. That is what removes the risk from the step. Some systems stop at level 2 and remain there, which is a perfectly acceptable outcome.

Implementation

How a change of ownership works

  1. Inventory and preparation. Infrastructure and hosting environments are mapped out, agreements and SLAs are reviewed, dependencies are identified, and the target environment and migration path are determined.
  2. Test environment and alignment. We set up the test environment, prepare runbooks and documentation, and migrate the system; we then conduct functional and regression testing in collaboration with you.
  3. Production readiness. Performance baseline, cutover plan with rollback, reconciliation, and approval.
  4. Operations at Emvico. Production go-live with hypercare during the initial days, handover of incident management, continuous monitoring, SLA reporting, and steering committee.

The schedule is set for each system based on complexity and the status of documentation.

What you will retain

The innovation, the domain expertise, and the ownership. The system is yours and remains yours. We take on the half that determines whether what you’ve built will be worth anything in three years, so that your own resources can devote their time to the next idea instead.

Have you built something where no one actually owns the operations?
